Submitted application with documentation of professional presentations, collaborations, references and successful completion of an examination administered by The Society for Simulation in Healthcare with the support of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning

HITS Scholar (Health Information Technology Scholar),
Grant recipient with Dr. Eileen Alexy through National League for Nursing—project—“Mobile Technology meets QSEN and Cultural Competency”
The EHR will be incorporated into a simulation scenario using the high fidelity simulator(s). The simulation will include cultural diversity. Documentation of assessment will require the students to use mobile technology devices to explore cultural differences. The simulation will assist students in applying the cultural knowledge to practice. Furthermore, the mobile technology devices will make references and resources easily accessible; thus, reinforcing safety.

Nominated for the award by the Health Services Staff for participating with the senior nursing students in the Flu Shot Clinics and the TB Testing Clinics as well as by the
faculty and students of the Department of Nursing for simulation creation.

Topic was “One more Scenario” which encouraged their need to become advocates for
their own professional growth as well as the need to seek mentors.
