New Jersey State School Nurses Association is pleased to announce that Amy Billera, BSN, RN, NCSN, has been named NJ State School Nurse of the Year and will represent New Jersey in the National Association of School Nurses competition. Amy has served as the school nurse at the East Amwell Township School in Ringoes, NJ for the past 11 years. She is a member of the Hunterdon County School Nurses Association which nominated her for the state competition.

Amy received her AAS/RN with honors, from Mercer County Community College in 1979. She graduated from The College of New Jersey in 1999 with a BSN and School Nurse Certification. She received her Master’s Degree in School Nursing from Monmouth University in December, 2009.

Kathleen graduated in 2006 from Loyola University in New Orleans with MSN in Healthcare Systems Management and obtained a post masters certificate in 2009 from Seton Hall University as a pediatric nurse practitioner. Kathleen holds the certifications of Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified (NEA-BC) and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She is also the secretary of the E-Chapter of NAPNAP as well as a member of AONE and Sigma Theta Tau International.

Kimberly Gerber (Co)
Class of 2005
Kimberly is currently serving in Yokosuka, Japan as a Lieutenant in the Navy Nurse Corps with her husband Stephen (civilian). She is the Division Officer of the PACU and plans to apply to a CRNA program following the present tour. She has been with the Navy for five years. Her foundation in nursing began at NNMC Bethesda, where she worked in the Hematology/Oncology ward and then the NICU, while her husband Stephen worked at NIMH (National Institutes of Mental Health). Now he is teaching English, coaching swimming, and training for a triathlon. In Japan, she has worked in the Multi-service ward, Family Practice Clinic and the PACU. She and her husband will be in Japan for another 1-1.5 years with a total of 3-3.5 years. They enjoy traveling, biking and triathlons.
