About Marcia Blicharz
Dr. Marcia E. Blicharz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing. She joined the faculty of Trenton State College, now known as The College of New Jersey, in the late 1970’s. Dr. Blicharz received her BSN from Villanova University, her MSN from the University of Pennsylvania and her EdD from Rutgers University. She has prior teaching experience at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. She is certified in medical surgical nursing.
She currently teaches and has taught a range of Nursing Courses including:
• Adult Health and Illness (Science and Practice);
• Pharmacology (graduate and undergraduate);
• Professional Role Development, Leadership, Health Care Policy and clinical practice courses.
Dr. Blicharz incorporates her expertise and vast experience as a nurse educator into her classes and challenges her students to think critically and creatively as empowered, caring, professional leaders, committed to life- long learning and patient centered high quality care.
Additionally, Dr. Blicharz currently serves as Co-Chairperson of the Department and has served in many leadership positions including Interim Dean, Department Chairperson, Level Coordinator, Curriculum Coordinator, etc.
Her research interests focus on curriculum development, pedagogy, leadership and professional role development.
