Congratulations to Dr. Gerry Altmiller who was accepted for a grant funded course sponsored by the Edmund J. Safra Foundation to learn about Parkinson’s. It is a great opportunity for advanced practice nurses and educators to learn first hand at Pennsylvania Hospital about Parkinson’s Disease. It is 16 hour didactic and 20 hours of clinical education, seeing patients at the Parkinson’s clinic there. Then the expectation is to produce a project to promote understanding of the disease.
She also received an unfolding case accepted for publication through QSEN. This case involves Parkinson’s using the QSEN competencies. The acceptance rate is bout 34%. So this quite an accomplishment.
