Virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid Certification Training
Virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid certification training is being offered by TCNJ. This course is targeted to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers,neighbors, and other adults how to help an adolescent who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.
Course Information
The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include:
- anxiety
- depression
- substance use
- disorders in which psychosis may occur
- disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD)
- eating disorders
Event Information
One day 6 hour program -8:30am – 2:30pm with on-line “homework” to complete prior to the online course date.
Your choice of 2 Sessions – January 7th or January 12, 2021.
You will receive an email link to your online course materials about a week before the online class.
Fee Schedule
The cost is $23.95 per person.
